A few people emailed to let me know the discount code was showing up as expired for some reason that I haven’t been able to discern (~~planetary perhaps~~). I’ve made a new discount code, AUGUST15, extended through the end of Labor Day weekend and applicable to the new class series along with everything else in my webstore.
Some questions I’ve gotten that I wanted to more widely share answers to:
Is this class for people other than tattoo artists?
100% yes. I’ve had people from many other fields— including social work, hairstyling, massage, acupuncture, and more— take my workshops and learn from my writing. In fact, when I was working on the initial survey for Could This Be Magic? I intentionally reached out to people in other personal care fields for their perspectives, knowing it would help inform how tattooers could be doing things. Trading information across industries is wildly generative, especially since much of what I teach is in an effort to share theory and praxis that hasn’t yet been centered in tattooing in a cohesive way: harm reduction, transformative justice, etc.
What about aspiring artists or people simply interested in tattooing?
Many tattoo mentors have assigned the book and workshop as study material for their apprentices, which is such an honor and hopefully demonstrates their usefulness for people at the very beginning of their tattoo journey. My ideal is that even tattoo clients and collectors will glean valuable knowledge from the series, becoming more informed and confident in advocating for themselves throughout the tattoo process and learning how to find artists that they’ll work well with.
Will I get something out of this series if I’ve already taken a workshop?
This I can promise. Though some of the material might be familiar, I am always researching, expanding, and practicing the things I bring to workshop spaces, and have worked to structure this one in particular to be as current and updated as possible.
Can I sign up even if I know I can’t attend live?
The sessions will all be recorded and made available afterwards, including the presentation slides and other resource materials so you can work through it at your own pace.
THANK YOU FOR READING AND FOR ALL THE SUPPORT.
I CAN’T WAIT FOR CLASS!
~~~Here is a space-themed playlist I made in honor of Mercury stationing direct, hoping for an end to all technical snags and setbacks~~~
